What Implicit Messaging Is
Implicit messaging is the cyclic I/O side of EtherNet/IP. It is commonly used when controller logic expects continuous updates from drives, remote I/O, or adapter devices through assembly instances.
Why It Matters
- Correct assembly numbers and byte layout are critical.
- Projects often fail because the I/O contract was assumed rather than verified.
- A site can have healthy Ethernet and still have unusable cyclic data if the assembly model is wrong.
