What Explicit Messaging Is
Explicit messaging is the request-and-response side of EtherNet/IP. It is typically used for configuration, diagnostics, and direct reads and writes rather than continuous cyclic I/O exchange.
Why It Matters
- It is often the easiest way to prove basic source access.
- Reads may work while writes still fail because the service or access level is not actually allowed.
- Troubleshooting usually depends on exact object, class, instance, and attribute detail.
