When Would You Change the IP Address?

The default IP address of a QuickServer gateway is 192.168.2.101. You will need to change this when integrating the device into a network that uses a different subnet, or when multiple gateways are deployed and each needs a unique address.

Prerequisites

  • Your computer must be on the same subnet as the gateway before making changes.
  • Default gateway IP: 192.168.2.101
  • Login credentials: username admin, password on the device label.
  • The new IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway values for your network.

Steps to Change the IP Address

  1. Open a web browser and navigate to the gateway’s current IP address (default: 192.168.2.101).
  2. Accept the HTTP prompt if displayed.
  3. Log in with username admin and your device password.
  4. Navigate to Setup → Network Settings → ETH1.
  5. Enter the new IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Update your computer’s network settings to match the new subnet, then reconnect to the gateway at its new IP address.

Troubleshooting

  • If the gateway is no longer reachable after the change, verify your computer is on the same subnet as the new gateway IP.
  • If you do not know the current IP address, use the QuickServer Toolbox to discover the device on your network.
  • If the IP address was changed to an unknown value, a factory reset will restore the default.
