How to Discover a QuickServer Gateway on Your Network

How to find and connect to a QuickServer gateway using the QuickServer Toolbox utility or a direct browser connection.

Categories:

Overview

The QuickServer Toolbox is a free Windows utility that discovers QuickServer gateways on your local network. This is the recommended method for initial device setup. You can also connect directly via browser if you know the device IP address.

Prerequisites

  • Computer on the same subnet as the gateway
  • Default QuickServer IP: 192.168.2.100 or 192.168.2.101
  • Required network parameters if on the default subnet:
    • IP: 192.168.2.xx
    • Default Gateway: 192.168.2.1

Step 1: Connect Hardware

Connect the QuickServer and your computer to the same Ethernet switch or router.

Step 2: Download and Open the QuickServer Toolbox

Download the latest QuickServer Toolbox from the Chipkin downloads page.

Open the Toolbox. It will automatically scan the local network and display all discovered gateways.

Step 3: Connect to the Gateway

Select your device from the discovered list. The Toolbox provides two quick-access buttons:

  • Connect: Opens the device’s web interface directly in your default browser.
  • Heartbeat: Captures a live diagnostic snapshot from the device.

Option 2: Direct Browser Connection

If you already know the gateway IP address:

  1. Open a browser and navigate to http://192.168.2.101 (replace with the actual IP if different).
  2. Accept the HTTP connection when prompted.
  3. Log in:
    • Username: admin (lowercase)
    • Password: printed on the label on the back of the gateway
