RUInet – Legacy Diagnostic Utility

RUInet is a legacy diagnostic and monitoring utility used with older QuickServer-based gateways. It is not used on newer gateways and is provided only to support customers maintaining legacy installations.

RUInet was originally developed by Sierra Monitor Corporation (SMC) prior to its acquisition by MSA Safety. Chipkin continues to make it available to assist customers supporting legacy systems in the field.

If you have questions about compatibility or usage, please contact us and include your gateway model and firmware version.

When Should RUInet Be Used?

RUInet should only be used if you are working with an older, legacy QuickServer-based gateway that does not include the modern built-in web interface.

If you are unsure whether your device is considered legacy, contact Chipkin with the gateway model number and firmware version so we can advise you correctly.

Newer Gateways Do Not Use RUInet

Newer gateways include their own built-in configuration and diagnostic interface. No external utilities are required.

To access diagnostics on a modern gateway:

  1. Connect the gateway to your network.
  2. Open a web browser.
  3. Enter the gateway’s IP address in the address bar.

The built-in web interface provides:

  • Device status and health information
  • Network and protocol configuration
  • Diagnostics and logging
  • Firmware and system details

See the Chipkin support pages for loading configuration files, generating diagnostics, and troubleshooting gateways.
